About

Embedded systems engineer building real-time target software for HIL and automotive diagnostics.

I build production software for automotive hardware-in-the-loop systems: diagnostics protocol stacks on real-time targets, embedded Linux/QNX platform layers, and the secure infrastructure underneath.

At MathWorks I've grown from intern to Software Engineer II, owning features used by Ferrari, McLaren, Lucid, and other OEM teams. My work displaces costly third-party toolchains and keeps HIL regression pipelines moving.

  • Designed a modular, codegen-compatible state-machine architecture integrated into Simulink Real-Time: deterministic UDS (ISO 14229) over ISO-TP / CAN FD executing on target hardware. Answers 5+ years of demand from 13+ OEMs and displaces ~$50K third-party diagnostic tools.
  • Diagnosed ~2.5 min boot stalls caused by systemd waiting on network-online.target in disconnected HIL environments. Re-architected the service dependency chain to decouple network readiness from application bring-up, cutting cold boot to ~30 sec (~5×).
  • Managed automated regression and verification pipelines across 5+ concurrent production release branches.
  • Own release readiness and library compliance for the diagnostics product ahead of launch.

HIL racks boot offline, but systemd blocked startup on network-online.target for ~2.5 minutes.
Approach

Led a ground-up migration to REST/HTTPS with Protobuf schemas, OpenSSL TLS, and credential-based auth.

Shipped across x86_64 and ARM aarch64 with improved reliability and encrypted service orchestration.
